Methods of payment

To establish the route which was taken and therefore, the toll fare  to be paid, a ticket must be taken at the entry booth, or the vehicle must be in possession of the automatic Telepass apparatus.
Each motorway entry junction (defined as bimodal) is equipped with both an automatic ticket-issuing machine and a device for emitting and receiving data from the vehicle telepass apparatus. The ticket consists of a 120 x 54 mm card with two magnetic parallel strips and two thermally treated strips for printing data. In order to avoid damaging or losing the ticket, place it in a safe place during your trip; do not fold or de-magnetize it.
The toll payment receipt has no fiscal validity: it is issued by all of the booths located at the A22 toll stations. Invoice Requests, relating to receipts for payment issued along the A22, must be forwarded directly to our  offices.

Autostrada del Brennero SpA accepts the following methods of payment:
Cash

The toll fare may be paid in cash, Euro bank notes or coins. Payment may also be made, only in bank notes, in the following foreign or non- EMU currencies:U.S. Dollar, English Sterling, Danish Krona, Canadian Dollar, Japanese Yen, Swiss Franc, Norwegian Krona, Swedish Krona and Australian Dollar. Bank cheques issued by banking institutions operating within the Italian territory made out for the exact sum of the toll fare will also be accepted as payment

Prepaid (credit top up) Viacard
This is a prepaid, magnetized card (8.5 x 5.5 cm) which is available in 25, 50 or 75 Euro and is valid until the credit is used up. It can be purchased at our Service Centres, Punti Blu, the service stations,  ACI (Italian Automobile Institute) offices, many banks, post offices, at many newsagents as well as other retailer outlets. It can be used on the entire Italian motorway network.  Payment is effected by inserting the card, after having previously inserted the ticket, in the lane ticket payement machines labelled with the Viacard logo. When the ticket is inserted, the toll fare will appear on the display. After inserting the card, both the amount withdrawn for the fare and the remaining credit will be visualized on the display. If credit is insufficient for payment, the difference can be made up by using a second card (a total of two cards may be used), or as an alternative cash can be used in the multi-functional lanes. No other means of payment other than as just described may be used to make up the sum (Viacard account, bank cards or tele-toll). This card may be used to make consecutive payments in the same lane.

It can be issued as part of existing services packages provided credit institutions such as Carta Si, Diners Club, Bankamericard, Deutsche Bank, Targa, Unicard, Key Client, and Top Card.  If this account is opened directly with the Brenner Motorway Viacard Plus account, a deposit of E150 must be paid up as a deposit which serves to open the account and the issuing of the first card. For each additional card, the deposit amount increases by E150 or, as an alternative you may provide a bank guarantee whose value is equal to sum obtained by multiplying the number of cards issued, including the first, by E150.  An annual fee of E15,49 plus E3,10 for each additional card is charged. The lanes in which the Telepass is operational are indicated by signs with a blue T on a yellow background and yellow road markings on toll booth lanes. The user should proceed through the lane when the traffic light turns green, while a second light (when illuminated green), indicates a successful transmission of the data. The user will hear a beep when the data transmission has been completed successfully; a longer beep signal is emitted if the system is malfunctioning.  Please contact the Service Centre or a Punto Blu to resolve the problem
Please be informed:

  • The Telepass should be used exclusively in vehicles whose licence plates have been indicated on the contract. The device can only be applied to another vehicle on prior written communication to any Service Centre or Punto Blu or by connecting to www.telepass .it
